Maine is moving from a federally funded marketplace to a state-based marketplace for plan year 2022. You must complete the online broker training on CoverME.gov and register by October 15, 2021, to sell through the new marketplace. The Maine Department of Health and Human Services sent a message to brokers on September 3 about the training and registration requirements.
If you are registered by October 15, you’ll be able to quote Individual business on-exchange beginning October 1 and submit enrollments beginning November 1 via Producer Toolbox.
Keep these dates in mind to make sure you obtain your certification by November 1.
Contact the CoverME.gov Consumer Assistance Center at 866-636-0355 or SBMBrokers.dhhs@maine.gov if you have questions or need assistance with the training and registration process.
